Michal Held is a poetess and researcher of Judeo-Spanish (Ladino) literature and language, as well as of more general aspects of identity and culture. Her research focuses primarily on the personal narrative, and offers new methods for the analysis of it as both a collective and an individual phenomenon .
Deriving from a belief that cultural and creative processes convey a multitude of voices, even whenrepresenting an individual, both the poetry and the research of Michal Held are multi-layeredand multi-faceted in nature.
